On June 3, 1990, Emmanuel Rehana Yosip became the Bishop of Canada, consecrated by Mar Dinkha IV, and he adopted the name Mar Emmanuel Yosip. As Bishop, Mar Emmanuel has been actively raising awareness about the challenges faced by persecuted Christians in the Middle East.
