His PhD thesis was about “The Book of Resh Melle by Yohannan Bar Penkaye: An Introduction to the Text and Study of its Literary Genres.” He also has a master’s degree in Near and Middle Eastern civilizations from the same university, along with a Master of Divinity.

On June 3, 1990, Emmanuel Rehana Yosip became the Bishop of Canada, consecrated by Mar Dinkha IV, and he adopted the name Mar Emmanuel Yosip. As Bishop, Mar Emmanuel has been actively raising awareness about the challenges faced by persecuted Christians in the Middle East.
